Parent Weekly Insight

Parents,

Summer is a fun and exciting time for families! For teenagers who drive, it can be difficult to keep them out of the road and safe at home. If yours are like mine, they want to go somewhere everyday. "Sweet Freedom"! Here are a few ideas to keep them home.

1. Plan to have dinner together as a family a few nights a week and let them invite a friend over. I would rather feed a friend then to have my teenager on the road.

2. Plan some fun things for them to do at home like a game night or movie night. Remember, If you don't plan for them, they will come up with their own plan.

3. Give them some jobs to do around the house like cutting grass, cleaning, or rearranging and organizing their room. Make the jobs a responsibility that must be completed before the can "GO".

Summer is a good time to get them back into some spiritual regiments like reading their Bible everyday, journaling, and doing something to help others.
Church attendance should not be optional. If they were out of church in May, get them back into the habit of church.

"Idle hands are the devil's workshop". Proverbs says, "a child left to himself is a mothers shame." Let's keep them busy and productive this summer and in doing so, we will keep them close and safe.

Please get them to Wednesday night live this summer. We have a great small group Bible study for every age group and games to get them into shape and keep them active.

Every Thursday night we will have open gym from 7 to 9pm.

Have a great summer!
Kevin

Sunday School Series - The Practice of Godliness

Jeff Bridges

Parents, I cannot stress to you enough how important it is for your teens to be in Sunday School each week. If they have to miss church at any other time...please don't let them miss the Sunday School hour at 9:45am.

This new series on godliness will really challenge your students this Summer. Godliness is a devotion to God that results in a life that is pleasing to God. Devotion to God is cultivated by the fear of God, the love of God and the desire for God. These are elements that are nearly extinct in this culture. This could be a life-changing Summer for your teenager. Please plan not to miss this series!
